The pleasure of a smooth breathing.
Our respiratory system is made up of different organs: the larynx, the pharynx, the bronchi and the lungs, and it has important vital functions:
1) Voice: Vocal cords, which emit sounds when they vibrate, are located in the larynx.
2) Protection: The respiratory system is lined with a mucous membrane that facilitates the filtration and expulsion of substances such as dust, pollen and smoke, amongst others.
3) Respiration (gas exchange): Oxygen (O2) from the air is transported via the bloodstream to the cells while carbon dioxide (CO2 ) produced in the cells is expelled into the air.
